Summary:

Nevada victims of childhood sexual abuse must bring suit

within 10 years of age 18, or

within 10 years of discovery that injury was caused by the abuse.

Text:

Nev. Rev. Stat. Ann.§ 11.215. Actions for damages for injury arising from sexual abuse of minor

1. Except as otherwise provided in NRS 217.007 (see below), an action to recover damages for an injury to a person arising from the sexual abuse of the plaintiff which occurred when the plaintiff was less than 18 years of age must be commenced within 10 years after the plaintiff:

(a) reaches 18 years of age; or

(b) discovers or reasonably should have discovered that [the] injury was caused by the sexual abuse, whichever occurs later.

2. As used in this section, "sexual abuse" has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 432B.100.

Commentary:

Nevada has a statute that allows a victim to bring an action against a perpetrator within 5 years of the time that the perpetrator receives money for "any material" that is related to the crime. NRS 217.007
